hi, my names Chavez, im an alcoholic... my last drink was.... wait wrong forum...
I manage a new repo company outta Albuquerque new mexico. the mother company to mine has been in the tow industry for over 20 years and been on rotation ever since. they've dabbed in repos but never had anything official until I came along. ive been towing for 3 years but spent all my time in light duty wreckers and been able to do some stuff that other companies turned down and making a name for myself doing that. I served 2 tours in Iraq which kinda helped gear me mentally towards this line of work. I attended UTI and graduated from the auto, diesel, ford and smog programs so I have a very intimate understanding of everything I work with. I also have sleep issues because of my head issues so its a win all the way around for me.
I spent a lot of time watching reponut videos and talking to him, that man is the best person on the planet to learn from I believe. ive already handled close to 100 repos since we started a little under 2 months ago and most of them were taken down in less than 24 hours of me receiving the case. a big credit to what I learned watching matts videos.
he doesn't make the videos to show off how much of a bad *** he is or all that nonsense. he makes them to show people what he does, what repo life really is, how he does things and tips and tricks to the trade like skip tracing and lockouts. I made my own "master key set" for fords, chevys Hondas and dodges. they don't work all the time but when they do its faster than having to bust out the airbag and long reach.
Anyway I took what I learned from him, applied it, one day my boss came on a ride along with me, I told him to stay in the truck because hes small and not at all intimidating, but I did my thing, and he asked me if I was ever a repoman before I came to work for him. I told him no but I applied what I learned and just adapt it to each case on an individual basis and so far ive been very successful. my boss gave me a huge opportunity by making a business and just handing it to me. I don't know what made him decide to trust me like that but if it puts me in the grave, ill do everything and anything to make sure he never has any reason to regret it
