Man accused of driving car off tow truck
LAUREL — Delaware State Police are searching for a 37-year-old Laurel man wanted in connection to a reckless endangering incident that occurred after a vehicle repossession worker attempted to repossess the man's vehicle this morning.
Percy W. Stultz came out of his home in the 12000 block of Sycamore Road at about 12:30 a.m. as a worker from Complete Auto Recovery was putting his 2003 Mazda Tribute on a tow truck, according to Delaware State Police.
Stultz interfered when the worker attached a chain to the car and put it on the truck’s lift, said Sgt. Joshua Bushweller, a police spokesman.
He then got into the car and put it in reverse despite warnings from the worker that he could tear off the bumper, he said.
Stultz then drove away, police said.
An arrest warrant has been issued charging Stultz with one misdemeanor count of reckless endangering.
