  • Repo incident leads to 3 arrests near Atlanta

    http://www.newscow.net/story.php?StoryID=6901

Three people were arrested Thursday near Atlanta following a disturbance that began when two men visited a rural residence - without proper documentation - seeking to repossess a vehicle, according to Cowley County undersheriff Bill Mueller.
Authorities have impounded the vehicle in question, a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, and are attempting to determine who has rightful ownership of it.
Brent A. Whiteman, 44, Atlanta, was arrested and could face charges of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. He posted $6,500 bond and was released.
Coy J. Ramirez, 31, and Marcus J. Robertson, 22, both of Oklahoma City, were arrested and held on one count of felony theft. Both were later released after posting $2,000 bond.
Whiteman told investigators that the incident began when Ramirez and Roberston visited the Whiteman residence in the 3000 block of 251st Rd. The men left in the vehicle without producing any sort of proof they were entitled to the vehicle.
Mueller said that authorities later gave the men another opportunity to produce proper paperwork, but they could not.
Sheriff’s officers were contacted after Whiteman pursued the men to Atlanta. Whiteman has been accused of damaging the vehicle during a confrontation with Ramirez and Robertson.
He is also accused of using the vehicle he was driving to ram the Trailblazer, which is the basis for the battery charge. No parties involved in the incident were injured.
Sheriff’s investigators met up with the men outside of Atlanta and then made the arrests.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m.
