  • Repo Agent Thrown From Car

A Pittsburgh, Pa., repo agent had a close call after the man he was after tried to run him over.

Geoffrey Hyde, 42, is facing charges of aggravated assault and risking a catastrophe.

According to court documents, Michael Engle had a valid repossession order for the car that Hyde was driving, a Chevy Impala.

Engle approached Hyde near a gas pump at a Speedway gas station, but Hyde sped up and drove directly towards Engle, who was forced to jump onto the hood of the car.

An officer who observed the incident said Hyde drove recklessly in reverse and in circles until Engle was thrown from the car.

The officer said Hyde drove with a total disregard for customers who were nearby.

Hyde was jailed on $10,000 straight bond.

Police said Engle was shaken up but sustained only abrasions in the confrontation. Source: www.pittsburgh.cbslocal.com.
