  • Got a little laugh today.

I had a charger spotted but it was blocked in and I had a ton of other accounts to run. After weighing my options due to forgetting my gps tracker at home I cracked open the valve stem on the right rear tire.

I go and run my other accounts and pick up a vol. that has been a thorn in my side, stash it then head over to my blocked in car. As I'm pulling up I see the unit pushed to the end of the driveway with a jack under it,I just kind of laughed to myself. Nobody seems to be around so I backed under it,as I'm strapping it down the debtor's father comes out and says " oh I'm glad you came so fast, are you here to change the tire" I chuckle to myself and said we'll not exactly I'm repossessing it. I know LAME story but it did make me laugh, guess you had to be there!

BE CAREFUL... Not sure about the laws in your state but in most states it's illegal to disable a unit. It's an ole timer trick but it could get you in trouble.

we had a funny one last week. My driver goes to run an address where the unit hadn't been but should have been. It was there half in the garage, half out. my driver parks the truck couple houses away, goes to vin it and slap a tracker on it and then to call me and ask if he should take it out of the garage. When he checked the vin he notices the keys are on the seat. He grabs the key to the truck and goes back to call me. I tell him go ahead (legal in my state if garage is open). so he puts the lift down a couple houses away and goes back to jump in it, well the guy walks out as he's walking up. driver tells him he is there to repo it, guy asks to get his stuff out. Guy thinks he is slick and runs and jumps in the truck and grabs his keys, the look on his face I'm told was priceless when he realizes his key is gone. His reply, "man, that's f***ed up." gets his stuff and we take the truck. Haha.

I bet you have a whole list of things that might get you in trouble...probably better stay in the office where you are safe.

Don't waste the money on the helmet cam. "Tiger in his truck" and other outlandish comments about dangers is white girl code for he looks like a scary pervert, we aren't safe. Seeing how you mentioned they were white girls (wooptie or woop de), you probably scared them yourself.

People without the list are the reason for high insurance rates for the ones who do.

Great stories guys,I will have to look into the law about disabling the units that are blocked in,as far as I knew we couldn't put a boot on them but as I think about it now letting the air out or popping a linkage would be "booting". Maybe even considered a safety concern? Thanks for the heads up.

last week i pulled up to my address, see my unit semi-blocked in by a neighbors car, as im pulling the truck around to get a better angle at my initial unit the cameras hit on the car that was blocking my unit in! had to make it quick in quiet for the first one, came back and snagged the other. I could only imagine how they were the next day seeing both cars gone!
(it was a duplex with a shared driveway)
