  • Suspect hits officer with lock while car gets repossessed

    http://www.cleveland.com/westlake/in...with_lock.html

A 31-year-old Westlake woman with a history of drunken driving and driving under suspension compounded her problems March 8 by adding assault to her criminal history. North Olmsted police were immobilizing her car under orders from Rocky River Municipal Court while the vehicle was parked at a local storage lot. According to police, a repossession agent arrived with a valid order to take back the woman’s 2008 Ford Edge. The agent told police the woman had not made any payments on the vehicle in four years. When the woman objected to the repossession, officers advised her to calm down and let the car go. Witnesses said the suspect then pushed a Westlake officer and tried to get into the vehicle. A struggle ensued and the woman swung at another Westlake officer with a padlock, hitting the officer in the hand. The woman was arrested and charged with obstructing official business, assault on a peace officer, and resisting arrest. She was taken to the Cuyahoga County jail March 9.
