  • Cops: Woman tries to run over repo man

    http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/cops-wo...o-1398652.html

A Cobb County woman is accused of trying to run over the man who came to repossess her pickup truck. Then, when the man jumped into the bed of the truck, she allegedly took off a high rate of speed, according to police.
Monica Ann Brown, 38, was being held Monday in the Cobb County Jail on aggravated assault, kidnapping and reckless conduct charges, according to booking records. Brown was arrested Tuesday at her Austell-area home and was being held on $50,000 bond, jail records show. Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Brown got into her 2001 red Dodge Ram, put it in reverse and attempted to run over the man attempting to repossess it, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.
"The victim stated that he then jumped into the bed of the pickup for cover because he feared [the woman] was going run him over," the warrant states. "After jumping in the bed of the pickup, [the woman] took off at a high rate of speed."
The truck's engine could be heard racing and tires squealing during the victim's call to 911, the warrant states. At one point, Brown allegedly stopped the truck, yelled at the man and then blocked him from getting out of the truck, according to police. Then, she took off again, knowing the man was still in the back of the truck, police said.
Brown later admitted to police she had driven 45 mph on a road where the speed limit is 35 mph, the warrant states. She was arrested by Cobb County police about 20 minutes after the incident began, according to records.

      What a fugly woman.

Is it just me or does it seem like women debtors are committing more acts of violence than man debtors?

This is exactly why when possible, and it was on this one, I will go get a $5 key cut and just drive it away. Just easier.

There are still a few cars with mechanical keys,BUT the point he was making was to be smart and think ahead...If this guy would have had a mechanical key for a car that takes a mechanical key,he would NOT have had to go through this mess!! Point taken by some absolute!! Ken PS...I do the same thing!! Also,If I have a truck with me I ALWAYS hook it up and lift it up first!!I am probably one of the LAST REAL repossessors left that actually really repossesses cars without a tow truck!! Or...?? am I??? Please advise. Ken.

you might be surprised what you can get a key for still. Most all chevy's, including escalades through 2005. a lot of dodge products, up to around 2004. kia's and hyundai's through about 2006. toyota's up till like 02.
I always try to get keys for AWD's and big 4wd's. It's worth $15 to get a key cut for an 04 AWD escalade, or 4wd suburban, or a sante fe.
I know going forward as time passes everything out for repo will be chip keys, but I take advantage of it when I can. Plus, oftern times you can bill the lender for the key at full price ($65-85).

When I was in the repo business, most Fords has PATS keys.

Absolute, most pickup truck keys are still just a basic key, right?

Depends, all fords except super duty's are chip keys after 99. Just had a regular key cut for an 07 express van 3500 cut, no chip. Most dodge trucks are regular keys too. Way easier with keys, plus I can drive my spotter civic to the repo and save the fuel... except that every repo seems to have gas light on, so often have to put a few bucks in the repo.

Hyundai Sante fe takes a standard key even a 2012. I just made one today. I make keys to almost every repo I go after except GMs unless a code is provided. Transponder keys were introduced to the Super Duty series in 2008. Some of the cheaper models of these trucks can be a hit or miss. I always have my programmer with me just in case. I have rolled up to houses, parking garages, malls and whatever and programmed and left with the vehicle.
