  • Repo gone bad: Shot hits car

    https://hcnews.com/pages/page_one_ne...shot-hits-car/

He may not have been an authentic repo man, but the bullet from his .357 magnum was the real deal.

While trying to repossess a car for a friend Friday, Jonathan Aaron Clark of Fort Worth reportedly fired a shot from a revolver, striking the left rear fender well of a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said.

Clark, 25, was arrested and charged with a felony count of deadly conduct with a firearm, Rose said.

Deputies responded to a “shots fired” 911 call about midnight on West Oak Trail Drive near the entrance to Oak Trail Shores.

The driver of the Trans Am, a 28-year-old man, was not struck or injured by the shot, Rose noted. Clark is not a professional repo man, Rose explained, but was “helping a friend” who was selling the car to the victim.

Rose said that Clark was driving his vehicle, following the victim.

“They both stopped, and (Clark) confronted the driver,” Rose said. “While the (victim) was leaving, the suspect (Clark) shot the car near the fender well. Somebody called in, and he was located pretty quickly.”

Rose said Clark was released from jail after posting $7,500 bond.

Rose said that professionals who repossess vehicles for a living know the rules – that it all must be done peacefully.

“As soon as there is a problem, they’ve got to stop and take them to court,” Rose said. “They usually call us and tell us. This was not real good judgment.”
