You dont ever put down that kind of info on a condition report or any of your other paperwork.

You would call it something like a diamond like stone in gold in color setting(if thats what the setting was) and you would call the chain a small gold in color chain.

    Why, you ask.....
So if they do come to redeem and they get the ring and chain and they go to sign off the condition report and inventory sheet and noticed your wording they can claim they want their diamond ring and gold chain.....It will be your *** on the line for filling out the paperwork like an idiot and you will have to replace those things.....

You never told us, what was your background and experience?
i am assuming not much expernice there patriot if he doesn't know how to do a condtion report correctly lol

LMAO!!! no i didnt list it as dimond ring or gold chain I always list stuff like that as costume jewlery or misc items in bag. We found out it was real when we took it to the pawn shop that buys all our amps and sub boxs and other stuff we get of value that we dont want.

Too vague. What happens when the debtor says "what is misc items"? All they have to say is they had a GPS in there and now its not. Be specific, but like patriot said don't EVER say Gold. Its always gold colored.

          Personal Property

          1 ea chain

          1 ea Ring

That is all the description they got from me. If they want their personal property appraised , they can take it to their favorite jewlery store.

We charge a $40 admin fee. We charge nothing for personal property because the law does not allow us to hold personal property ransom. We get paid to repo and storage. The personal property fees should be figured into your repo fees.

Why do you put your property fee in your repo fee?

If the debtor just wants their property but can not redeem the vehicle then you are charging your client for the debtors property?

What kind of sense does that make?

I understand that you say you can not charge for that, but charging your client for it instead does not seem like the answer....

We are 50 bucks flat, if you turn into an a@@hole its 150 lol j/k... I would never try to charge a lender that fee that would turn south. We are not allowed to hold vehicles or property randsom here either i think in the past few years I gave 1 person items back after the swat team showed up and it just was not worth the 50 bucks..

If its a specialty key especially like BMW, Porsche, Mercedes I trade them property for the key and they are usually happy. I also try to get both keys and or the valet key and anything else like the owners manual etc so my client has just a tad easier time selling it more or taking less of a hit for the rape they get at auction.

We have to hold it for 90 days which sucks then its disposed of.

We're at a minimum of $50 for personal prop with a maximum of $150 if there is a TON of stuff. We have to store it for 45 days. Our notification says we charge per day but we never have...FL law says we have to charge a reasonable amount but they don't define any further.

after seeing what most of you charge im shocked compared to the company i work for charges. they charge 160 for personal items. flat rate no day by day charges or anything. i always kinda felt bad for people that have to pay that much to get there stuff back.

There is/was a place out here that was charging in the mid-hundreds for personal property even on day one. Talk about immoral / unethical and probably illegal. People didn't have the money to sue civilly though.

Wow you guys are making a killing from property LOL. You are going to say I am stupid or whatever but I realize we are here to make money and there is a cost in doing the inventory and storing the property but I still dont charge anything for property as long as I get keys which I bill my lender for keys.

Clients know that even if debtor surrender keys I am still billing them, if the RO does not have the keys but they were cool during the repo in case of any contact or when they come to the office then I allow them to get there stuff.

If they are a**holes, well lets just say that is a different story...
